Postecoglou confirms the integral part £25m Spurs player will play in the forthcoming season

Ange Postecoglou is currently getting to know his Tottenham team.

The Australian manager is deciding which players he wants to include in this season’s plans and who he intends to sideline, it appears one player, in particular, has gained his favor.

As it turns out, Yves Bissouma has been an integral part of the pre-season, and Tom Barclay disclosed on The Tottenham Way Podcast what Postecoglou has been privately conveying to the player.

As per Barclay’s comments, the Tottenham boss has been lavishing Bissouma with accolades, recognizing his significant role for the imminent season, and communicating wishes for him to serve as a role model for the younger lot.

Key role for Bissouma indicated

Barclay expounded on Postecoglou’s dialogues with Bissouma.

“He gave the impression of being akin to an Uncle or a Dad, which has been echoed with a few players, particularly Bissouma. According to what we understand, Ange has been emphasizing to him the importance of his role for the team and his wish for Bissouma to lead by example for the younger players,” said Barclay.

Making a leap

For Bissouma, this presents an opportunity to assert his importance in the Tottenham team.

Having displayed his prowess at Brighton before his £25m move to Spurs, he failed to stand out last season, as was the case with many of his teammates.

However, should he manage to regain his form this season, he will be a key member of Tottenham’s team. Who knows? Bissouma might just thrive under Postecoglou’s regime at Spurs.
