James Maddison anticipates playing alongside a “smart” teammate from Tottenham

James Maddison quickly adapted to life at Tottenham Hotspur and is buzzing for the start of the new football year.

In various interviews with TalkSPORT while gearing up for the forthcoming season, the midfielder expressed his eagerness to step onto the pitch for his new team.

Enthusiastically looking forward to his tenure at Spurs, Maddison, during an interaction with TalkSPORT, shared his delight at the prospect of sharing the field with Harry Kane.

Viewing Kane as the top striker globally, Maddison is keen to team up with his England team captain in a club setting.

Maddison is impatient

The midfielder discussed Kane.

“Harry is an exceptional player, arguably the best number nine in the world of football in my view. I firmly believe he’s the best number nine in world football. Obviously, we have played together for England, and he’s a highly intelligent player who can do everything. Who wouldn’t cherish playing alongside him?” Maddison remarked.

Will he have the chance?

While Maddison is keen to play with Kane, there’s a chance that he may not get to hang out on the turf with the forward.

As most know, Kane and Tottenham are in high-level talks regarding a transfer to Bayern Munich, possibly denying Maddison the chance to share the field with Kane at Spurs.

At this point, it appears feasible that these two players will get the chance to play together in this season. However, with the potential Bayern deal hanging like a gloomy cloud over Tottenham, a scenario where our audiences never see their partnership in the Premier League is possible.
