Tottenham’s pre-season tour involves a notably large team of players.
Spurs have taken roughly 30 players to Australia for the tour, resulting in the team being divided into two during their public training session earlier this week, for a friendly match among themselves.
The Spurs conducted an 11 vs 11 match, owing to the large team size, a few players had to sit out from this game.
While certain players were waiting on the bench, others underwent individual training sessions during the game.
In The Tottenham Way Podcast, journalist Tom Barclay noticed a defensive group including Djed Spence, training apart from the core team.

Spence Gets Special Training
Barclay included the £15m player in his observations.
Barclay remarked, “Other than that, a defensive group including Alfie Whiteman, Djed Spence, Joe Rodon, Eric Dier, and Harvey White were seen having their own workout. Despite Dier’s recent injury, I don’t categorically think he’s out of the game. It was nonetheless interesting to see them training separately under the guidance of Matt Wells and Mile Jedinak.”

An Unfortunate Sign for Spence
Sadly, this may not be a good sign for Spence.
Training away from the rest of the team is an unfavorable indicator, particularly when training alongside players such as Rodon, Whiteman, and White, which may hint he might not be playing with the primary team anytime soon.
Only Dier, recovering from an injury, seems to have a known reason for separating from the group.
On the contrary, a recent Instagram post from Spence suggests his fitness isn’t an issue.
In the past season, Spence faced exclusion from Antonio Conte’s team and, unfortunately, this might be a replay under Ange Postecoglou.
Let’s hope Spence gets an opportunity to show his potential this summer.
