Resolution on 28-Year-Old Player’s Future at Tottenham Approaching

Tottenham Hotspur is expected to make a decision regarding Clement Lenglet’s future in the coming days.

Journalist Rudy Galetti spoke to Give Me Sport about the 28-year-old defender’s situation.

Ange Postecoglou, the new manager, has already begun preparations for Tottenham’s next season roster.

Although he will not officially assume the position until the end of this week, he has already started working on the team’s lineup.

Following an impressive season with Empoli, goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is poised to join the club.

Last season, the team’s defensive performance was subpar, with more goals conceded than any other team in the top half.

Turning the team’s fortunes around will require considerable effort from Postecoglou, particularly given his likely tactical changes.

Rather than utilizing Antonio Conte’s preferred back three, Postecoglou favors a back four.

After spending last season on loan, the club is now set to determine the future of Clement Lenglet.

Though not consistently in the lineup, it seems Barcelona is willing to let him join Spurs on a permanent basis.

However, since Postecoglou has not previously worked with Lenglet, he will rely heavily on Ryan Mason’s input regarding the French defender’s potential signing.

Tottenham to Decide on Lenglet’s Future Imminently – Galetti

Discussing the center-back, Galetti stated: “The talks will also continue in the next few days, even if Tottenham Hotspur have no intention of holding long negotiations as they do have other possible names on their list of center-backs.”

As Galetti notes, there are other center-back candidates under consideration by Tottenham.

Edmond Tapsoba, Jonathan Tah, and Micky Van de Ven are all rumored to be potential additions to the North London club.

Uncertainty surrounding the future of some current center-backs may push Tottenham to secure Clement Lenglet.

Davinson Sanchez’s future at the club appears uncertain at this point.

Having fallen out of favor with Spurs, the Colombian international needs a change of scenery.

Already familiar with what Lenglet can offer, Tottenham may view him as a reliable backup option for next season.

Nonetheless, Postecoglou may prefer a more enticing option to partner with Cristian Romero.

While this potential signing may not spark excitement among fans, it could contribute to a more promising season ahead.
