TalkSPORT Analyst Hints at Postecoglou’s Potential Willingness to Sell Tottenham’s 29-year-old Player

TalkSPORT analyst Simon Jordan suggests that Ange Postecoglou might be open to the idea of trading Tottenham Hotspur’s key player Harry Kane during this summer transfer window.

With Kane entering the last year of his contract with the Spurs, his future with the club seems uncertain.

Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga champions, are showing serious interest in the 29-year-old and are prepared to challenge Tottenham’s chairman Daniel Levy’s determination to retain him.

After a £60 million offer from Bayern for the England captain was turned down, it is expected that they will come back with a better proposition.

Florian Plettenberg, a journalist from Sky Sports, stated that Bayern is in active discussion with Tottenham and Kane is eager for a move to Munich.

Jordan conjectures that Postecoglou might not be completely opposed to selling the club’s greatest goalscorer this summer.

Jordan Implies Postecoglou Might Consider Trading Kane

Jordan argues that Daniel Levy would want to avoid losing Kane without any monetary gain next summer and Postecoglou might agree to sell him based on his preference for a certain playing style.

“£60m could be a starting point for negotiations,” he stated in his talkSPORT interview. “Because there is just one year left in his contract, unless Tottenham manages to get Harry to sign a new deal, which I somehow doubt.

“I can’t envision Daniel [Levy] allowing Kane to go as a free transfer next year, so there are limited options. He needs to either sell him or convince him to sign a new contract. Personally, I’m ambivalent about the matter.

“A £80m offer from Bayern Munich might really challenge the steadfastness of Daniel Levy. This could ultimately be Ange Postecoglou’s call.

“I sense he wouldn’t fret much about this if he gets that entire sum to reinvest in the squad. Respectfully, despite Kane’s extraordinary skills, he may not fit the playstyle Postecoglou envisions for Tottenham.

“The intriguing part in all of this is whether Harry Kane wishes to continue his career in Germany.

“Is he willing to disturb his young family’s equilibrium and move to Germany to play?

“Playing for Real Madrid or Barcelona in Spain is one thing, but playing in Germany for Bayern Munich is an entirely different scenario. Frankly, I’m uncertain about that.”

It’s expected that Postecoglou will introduce a vibrant, high-pressure style of football at Tottenham and there are concerns over whether Kane is suited to this approach.

Despite this, the English international is currently in his prime and boasted an impressive tally of 30 Premier League goals last season.

It’s doubtful whether Postecoglou would be pleased to see the star of his team leave, especially considering the challenges he already faces in reshaping his existing squad.

In the coming weeks, Tottenham will need to make a crucial decision. However, it wouldn’t come as a shock if they decide to take a chance on Kane’s future, hoping for a potential change of heart as he adapts to Postecoglou’s style of coaching.
