Reports suggest that Tottenham has managed to finalise an agreement for Alejo Veliz, a forward from Rosario Central.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed “here we go” with Veliz’s transfer to Spurs on his Twitter feed last Thursday night.
News has also circulated in Veliz’s home country, Argentina, hinting at the imminent transfer.
Reports by TyC Sports suggest that Veliz, seen as one of his club’s leading figures, has ‘finalised his move to top-tier football’.
The payment Spurs will be making reportedly exceeds ‘the €15m clause’ (£11.8m) in a move considered as ‘the costliest sale’ in Rosario Central’s history.
According to the Argentine source, Tottenham is forking out $17m (£13.3m) in addition to $6m (£4.7m) as bonuses for Veliz.
The total sum that Spurs is said to be paying Rosario Central for the striker is a cool £18million.
In a separate note, Veliz’s present club allegedly retains a 10 percent profit clause from any future sale of the player.
As per the news report, Veliz is due to travel to England in the forthcoming days to put pen to paper on a five-year contract with Tottenham.

Tottenham deserves praise for identifying, pursuing, and (allegedly) wrapping up the deal for an exciting prospect like Veliz.
Rosario Central has contributed several top-notch players to international football, and we have high hopes that Veliz will follow suit.
Rosario has introduced world football to players like Angel Di Maria, Giovani Lo Celso, and Facundo Buonanotte over the past 16 years.
And now, it’s Veliz’s turn to make the switch and, hopefully, he can rise to become an invaluable asset for Spurs.
Following reports, the next phase would involve a medical examination followed by an official statement on the transfer.
