“Incredible Skill”: Tottenham’s Remarkable 20-Year-Old Player Receives Praise from Ange Postecoglou

Pape Matar Sarr joined Tottenham amidst much hype a few years back, but till now, he hasn’t got a significant opportunity to prove himself at Spurs.

The midfielder has been on the outskirts of the Tottenham team for some time. Now, it appears that he might be prepared for his breakthrough season at Tottenham.

During his pre-match press conference in the pre-season, Ange Postecoglou expressed his admiration for Sarr. Postecoglou assured that he has great expectations from the 20-year-old and that he is part of his plans for the upcoming term.

Sarr’s Opportunities

Postecoglou shared his views about the young player.

“Absolutely. He is an extraordinary player. He is always joyful, what more could you expect from a footballer? He is admirable and consistently cheerful. I’ve come across many remarkable players who tend to be quite grumpy,” Postecoglou stated.

“Sarr is an exceptional talent. I am intrigued by the fact that we have a bunch of talented players, including Destiny, Pappy, Skippy.

“We have a promising, highly thrilling group. There is a lot of room for improvement and the possibility of establishing a team that can have an immediate impact.

“He is technically proficient. He has remarkable agility for a midfielder, which I think is increasingly important in today’s game. His ability to find open spaces, break lines with and without possession of the ball is impressive for such a young player – and even more so for a 20-year-old. These midfielder capabilities are in high demand in the modern game.

“Modern-day managers recognize the importance of transitional play and the need for players who can cover the ground intelligently, and Sarr is one of them. He is always in the correct zones, always looking to adopt an assertive strategy. He is technically superior.”

Opportunity

Sarr has been awaiting this opportunity for some time, and now is his time to seize it.

With the possibility of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg leaving and Rodrigo Bentancur still rehabilitating from an injury, Sarr has a solid chance to claim a spot in the midfield. With Postecoglou being highly appreciative of him, he may get the opportunity to start the match.

Certainly, it remains to be seen whether he will capitalize on this opportunity or not. However, it appears that he is making all the right moves during the training sessions.

The 20-year-old may well become a vital player for Spurs this season.
