It seems Tottenham Hotspur is intensifying efforts to support Ange Postecoglou in the transfer market.
The Spurs started off their summer in high spirits, securing deals with Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison and Manor Solomon.
The pace has since slowed at Tottenham, as they have yet to secure a new central defender for Postecoglou.
Although heavily linked with several players, Tottenham seems to have made headway in their endeavor to sign Micky van de Ven.
Fabrizio Romano reported yesterday that Spurs are close to finalizing the signing of Van de Ven, with the Dutch player having already consented to the move.
If reports are accurate, following this Tottenham may promptly secure deals with Edmond Tapsoba, Ashley Phillips and Alejo Veliz.

Tottenham looks forward to securing three additional major signings
Tottenham urgently needs to bolster their defence and while they are near closing a deal with Van de Ven, they are not giving up on Tapsoba.
Patrick Berger, a journalist from Sport1, says that Postecoglou’s team still has plans to sign Tapsoba.
Tottenham is likely to propose approximately £38.7 million for the 24-year-old, while Bayer Leverkusen may demand more.
The player from Burkina Faso has shone in the Bundesliga with Leverkusen. If Tottenham consolidates a deal, it would mark a notable achievement alongside Van de Ven.

A potential deal for Ashley Phillips, a highly rated young player from Blackburn Rovers, is anticipated to be confirmed this week.
According to reports from The Athletic, the Spurs expect to finalise a deal for Phillips this weekend, following him passing his medical check two weeks prior.
Meanwhile, Tottenham is also on the lookout for another promising young talent in Alejo Veliz.
The 19-year-old forward from Argentina, currently playing for Rosario Central, is a much sought after prospect.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the Argentinian forward has agreed to move to North London, with negotiations between Spurs and Rosario currently underway.
Although Phillips and Veliz are expected to be regarded as future prospects at Tottenham, it is evident Tottenham is making a determined push to rejuvenate Postecoglou’s team.
Procuring a central defender of the likes of Tapsoba, to accompany Van de Ven, would be a significant addition for Postecoglou.
Tottenham is in for busy weeks ahead as there is still significant work to accomplish before the transfer window closes. However, the developments over the past few days should inspire and encourage fans for the upcoming season.
