Fabrizio Romano Confirms Tottenham’s Plan to Acquire ‘Extraordinary’ Player Soon

According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur is poised to finalize the signing Ashley Phillips from Blackburn Rovers in the coming week.

The Spurs have been making strategic signings recently, including Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison, and Manos Solomon, all of whom have been excellent additions to their squad.

Presently, Tottenham is gearing up for another acquisition for the future. On Twitter, Romano reported that Phillips is scheduled for a medical check-up in the next 24 hours.

Fabrizio Romano Announces Ashley Phillips’ Imminent Signing with Spurs

Blackburn Rovers are currently dealing with financial constraints as the VH Group, the club’s owners, have allegedly been advised by the Indian government to curb their overseas investment (James Nursey).

This situation has compelled them to let go of some players from their squad, and Ashley Phillips seems to be the favored choice for the upcoming transaction.

Spurs are likely to take advantage of this by approaching Phillips, and Romano has brought some encouraging news for Spurs’ supporters regarding this move.

Romano has reported that Tottenham and Blackburn have reached an agreement for the defender’s transfer, and Phillips is set to join the Spurs soon.

Romano’s tweet read: “Promising centre-back Ashley Phillips will move to Tottenham, agreement set — it is a strategic signing for the future, and naturally new CB will arrive this summer.

“Transaction fee with Blackburn will be £3m — medical in the next 24 hours as @CDEccleshare has informed.”
