Response from Steven Bergwijn to Arsenal’s Young Player’s Community Shield Victory

Steven Bergwijn has shared his thoughts on Jurrien Timber, a new recruit for Arsenal, winning the Community Shield recently.

After claiming his first trophy with the Gunners, the 22-year-old defender shared a post on Instagram. In response to the post, the former Tottenham Hotspur winger, who left the club last year, posted a comment.

All three newcomers to the team were included in yesterday’s starting lineup by Mikel Arteta.

Interestingly, none of the three players occupied the positions that most people would have predicted before the season started.

Due to an injury to Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz had to step in as the centre forward. He was hoping to score at least once in yesterday’s game.

Contrarily, Declan Rice played further forward, while Thomas Partey was positioned in front of the four defenders.

Lastly, Jurrien Timber played as a left-back which is not his usual position in defence.

He played well in this new role until he was replaced in the 76th minute of the match.

Despite his ties with Tottenham, Steven Bergwijn was appreciative of Timber’s debut performance with Arsenal.

After leaving Spurs last year, Bergwijn has been playing alongside Timber at Ajax for the past year.

Bergwijn Expresses Appreciation for Arsenal’s Defender Timber

The young defender posted on Instagram after the match, saying, “Wembley. The Community Shield stays in London.”

According to Kai Havertz, Timber performed exceptionally well. Declan Rice’s comment was just a delighted: “Yaaaaaaaa.”

Steven Bergwijn was thrilled with Timber’s performance for Arsenal and set his Tottenham ties aside to congratulate him.

As a Dutch international player, he is poised to make a significant contribution to Arsenal’s campaign.

His ability to play in different defensive positions could prove invaluable, as was evident in yesterday’s game.

Manchester City scoring from the right side shortly after he was substituted also suggests his importance on the field.

Kieran Tierney could not defend against Cole Palmer effectively enough, and the young player was able to get the ball past Aaron Ramsdale.

This is unlikely to improve the Scottish player’s chances of getting more playing time this season.

While Arteta wants to keep him, the player may become discontented if he ends up further down the selection list.
