Micky van de Ven notably appears to be on the verge of finalising his transfer to Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs.

The defender has reportedly wrapped up his medical according to sources, and his official introduction could be happening this afternoon.

Though the absence of these prospective recruits in tonight’s match may let Spurs’ fans down, they will be delighted that the transfers are reaching the finish line.

It appears that 22-year-old Van de Ven, potentially, is being considered for an instant slot in Tottenham’s starting lineup once the new season kicks off.

The young Dutch player has amassed praise throughout his stint with Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga, accumulating 38 appearances.

Conversely, 19-year-old Alejo Veliz has slightly less career experience and might require more time to adjust.

Regardless, both Veliz and Van de Ven will not be seen on the field for Tottenham against Barcelona tonight.

Harry Kane is another Spurs’ player to be on the sidelines during tonight’s friendly match in Spain.

Spurs’ supporters should be relieved that his non-participation isn’t linked to any possible transfer.

Kaveh Solhekol provided the update on Social media, stating that it was a decision taken keeping the league start on Sunday in mind.

This is potentially heartening news for Spurs fans who have been concerned about their striker’s future with the club.

Alejo Veliz, excited for the new season, is likely to look forward to learning from England’s captain.

With Kane on board, Tottenham’s team is looking quite robust heading into the new season.

Even though Veliz and Van de Ven won’t be playing their initial match for Tottenham against Barcelona tonight, they will be contributing to an extremely promising season up ahead.
