Jamie O’Hara counsels Tottenham Hotspur to go after Manchester United defender, Harry Maguire.
In an early morning discussion on TalkSPORT, (17/7 6:58am), O’Hara delved into the prospects of the English footballer’s future.
Harry Maguire was stripped of his Manchester United captaincy in a weekend that marked the commencement of the pre-season, indicating a notable change in his career trajectory.
Though his replacement has not yet been announced by Erik ten Hag, this certainly hints towards the possibility of Maguire’s time at Old Trafford drawing to a close.
The 30-year-old has been attracting attention from a variety of clubs this summer, with Newcastle and West Ham among them.

Regardless, O’Hara insists that Tottenham Hotspur should seize the chance to rectify their defense by recruiting Maguire.
The dismal state of defense displayed by the Spurs last season must be riveted soon to ward off similar troubles.
In Maguire, a seasoned defender, Cristian Romero could find the composure he needs by his side during games.
O’Hara Advocates for Maguire’s Tottenham Transfer
When queried about Maguire’s potential move, O’Hara responded: “A departure could be beneficial for him personally.
“When the armband is taken from you, it often indicates you’re no longer part of his vision.
“Given that you saw little action last season as Luke Shaw was favoured over you, an exit is in order,” advised O’Hara.
Shebahn Aherne, the reporter, then posed the question: “Would you propose his transfer to Spurs?”
to which O’Hara responded: “An affirmative from me, as he is superior to our present squad.
“Yes, without a doubt, I would place him in a starting position. I envision him playing the centre-half position alongside [Cristian] Romero.”

“Despite being stripped of captaincy, he remains a top-tier player, well-deserving of the position in Manchester United.”
However, I sense that Manchester United’s recent tactical shift to a high line and aggressive pressing strategy under [Erik] Ten Hag places him at a disadvantage due to his slower pace,” O’Hara added.
The £35m rated defender is currently on the radar of Spurs, who have a number of other potential recruits in mind.
Although O’Hara has prodded Tottenham to snatch up Maguire, the attraction of younger alternatives may be more encompassing.
Interest in Edmond Tapsoba and Micky Van de Ven remains robust, albeit their price range is akin to Maguire’s.
Maguire perfectly aligns with Ange Postecoglou’s goal of securing a ball-playing centre-back.
Should he demonstrate an ability to initiate at the centre and eradicate threats efficiently, he may be the solution that the Australian coach seeks.
