Tottenham Eyes Ambitious Moves for Potential Harry Kane Substitute

Tottenham seeks to bolster their forward lineup and has shown interest in player Mehdi Taremi.

Despite an astounding four-goal game from Harry Kane today, his future remains undecided. Consequently, Spurs and newly appointed manager Ange Posteocglou are bracing for the worst.

Should Kane depart, Tottenham will need to recruit a new, perhaps even a pair of, strikers. As reported by A Bola in Portugal, Spurs have initiated their first stride in procuring Iranian striker Taremi.

A Bola discloses that Tottenham have reached out to Taremi via Jorge Mendes, a notable agent recognized for orchestrating many noteworthy exchanges to and from Portugal.

Speculation is that Tottenham has tendered an inaugural proposal of approximately £21m to persuade Porto to sell. Nevertheless, Porto likely won’t entertain such a proposition, expecting a bid closer to £30m.

News of Tottenham’s interest in Taremi appeared over the weekend. This recent report implies that an official bid has been submitted.

Taremi is allegedly open to an English move, should the chance present itself. Until then, he remains a Porto player until an offer is accepted.

With his “remarkable” contributions at Rio Ave prior to joining Porto, Taremi made quite an impression after notching up 31 scores across all competitions last season.

Tottenham might have reservations over Taremi’s age

Despite a reliable goal-scoring history and displaying his prowess in Portugal, spending over £25m on a 31-year-old such as Taremi might be a gamble for Tottenham.

Should they need to fill the scoring gap left by Kane’s exit, Spurs may want to evaluate younger candidates with long-term vision in mind.

Given he’s already 31, Taremi’s prime playing years might be behind him, carrying a degree of risk for Tottenham with his acquisition.
