According to Rio Ferdinand, Tottenham Hotspur may need to dramatically elevate Harry Kane’s salary to £600,000 per week to persuade him to renew his contract.
Ferdinand shared his views on the FIVE YouTube channel in light of emerging reports that Tottenham might propose a new deal to the 29-year-old Kane, amidst ongoing speculation about his career prospects.

As reported by The Guardian recently, Spurs might be readying a substantial salary hike from Kane’s current £200,000-per-week contract, which is due to terminate at the close of the upcoming season.
Extreme Offers May Be Required to Retain Kane, Ferdinand Bets
This comes after Bayern Munich expressed interest in acquiring the striker.

Much is uncertain and will depend hugely on Kane’s decision. As Tottenham’s team leader, any decision to depart will put their president, Daniel Levy, in a tight spot. Although, it seems they are not ready to relinquish their top player. A contract offer is reportedly on the table, indicating their intent to retain him.
However, as per Ferdinand’s analysis, if Tottenham wants to secure Kane’s loyalty to the team, they might need to be ready for a hefty financial commitment.
“For Kane to consider a new contract with Spurs, they will need to cough up an exorbitant sum. He could receive equally big-money offers from Bayern Munich and possibly Manchester United. He’s already drawing in a substantial weekly figure of around £250-300,000. I wouldn’t be surprised if they have to up that to somewhere in the region of £5-600,000,” Ferdinand commented on FIVE.
He went on to say, “Fiscal encouragement is the only means they have to retain him, as they can’t make guarantees about titles or trophies.”
Clearly, Kane’s decisions will depend upon his personal and professional priorities. While a lucrative contract might tempt him to stay at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, it would be dejecting if financial gain becomes his sole motivation to play at the premier level.
Kane is in no hurry to decide on his future. Regardless of any bids from other clubs, Tottenham’s offer is unlikely to be retracted anytime soon.
With several options available from next year, it’s understandable why Ferdinand thinks that an exceptional offer might be required to persuade Kane to renew his contract with Spurs.
