There’s been recent talk of Tottenham Hotspur showing interest in Vitor Roque of Athletico PR.
In an earlier report around April, it was revealed that Tottenham was part of the teams eager to sign the Brazilian offensive player.
Moreover, other top clubs such as Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal are reportedly vying for the player as well.

Just recently, it seemed like Tottenham was about to lose Roque to Barcelona.
However, according to a fresh report from Mundo Deportivo, the battle for Roque might be far from over.
With this, Tottenham might get another opportunity to sign the player who seemed to be slipping away.
The report from the Spanish news provider claims that Athletico PR gave Barcelona a 24-hour ultimatum about Roque’s move.
The Brazilian club is seemingly awaiting the necessary paperwork to finalise the transfer.
The report also states, ‘If not, they will start considering other offers.’
Seemingly, Tottenham is ‘constantly checking in’ about Roque’s move, together with Man United and Paris Saint-Germain.
In fact, these clubs – including the ones already mentioned – are reportedly ready to fly to Brazil to finish off the signing.
Because they’re offering ‘more certain outcomes’ compared to Barca, they’re willing to triple Roque’s current salary, the report added.
Based on reports, Barca and Athletico are said to have agreed to a total transfer value of €55m (£47m).
This amount includes an initial payment of €30m, €20m in additional payments, and a potential €5m bonus if Roque wins the Ballon d’Or.
If this deal doesn’t go through, the involved clubs may need to readjust their strategies.
Are Spurs Poised to Secure the New Sergio Aguero?
If Tottenham secures Roque’s signature, they’d be adding an excellent talent to their roster.
He boasts an impressive career with Athletico, having appeared in 66 senior matches, scoring 22 goals, and providing nine assists.
In addition to his club performances, this ‘extraordinary’ forward’s score for Brazil’s Under-20s stands at six goals in 11 games.
Scouting agency Breaking the Lines recently likened Roque’s playing style to Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez.
‘From the title of this piece (Vitor Roque: The New Aguero?), you can see where this is heading,’ they remarked.
‘Whenever I watch Vitor Roque playing, I can’t help but think of Sergio Aguero. His ability to score in many different ways, his build, his physical strength.

‘The only area where Roque might arguably outshine Aguero is his speed and higher work rate.
‘However, it’s worth noting that Aguero underwent several knee surgeries during his time at Atletico and City, which certainly had an impact on his performances.’
Barcelona’s supposed Ballon d’Or clause in the deal speaks volumes about Roque’s extraordinary potential.
