West Ham Favored Over Spurs as Potential Home for £40m Player

Harvey Barnes is seen to more likely move to West Ham United rather than Tottenham Hotspur in the coming season.

Sami Mokbel revealed this during the Last Word on Spurs discussion about the £40m winger.

Despite Leicester City’s relegation, Barnes is expected to remain in the Premier League come summer.

Needless to say, Barnes’ talents are too great to be confined to the Championship, and he has already garnered attention from Spurs, West Ham and Aston Villa.

Mokbel indicates that Barnes is enticed by the idea of joining Spurs, but a probable lack of guaranteed playtime in north London might steer him towards teams like West Ham or Aston Villa.

Barnes seen favoring West Ham

Mokbel presents his knowledge about Barnes.

“The interest in Harvey Barnes cannot be denied, but Barnes himself has a variety of choices. Barnes is captivated by the thought of being a part of Tottenham, however, he may question the playtime he’d get here. With players like Son, Kulusevski and Richarlison already here, there is a possibility he interprets the situation as needing to play at another club. I believe Barnes favors a club like West Ham or even Aston Villa, where he could play regularly because such certainty will not be provided at Tottenham,” said Mokbel.

Better Options

To the disappointment of Tottenham fans, Aston Villa and West Ham might currently be seen as more appealing choices than Spurs.

Villa and West Ham both offer European football, and for a winger like Barnes, grabbing a position in these teams would probably be less challenging than getting into the Spurs.

We wouldn’t be surprised if Barnes is spotted in a claret jersey next season.
