According to Sami Mokbel from The Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur could find it challenging to transfer Ivan Persic out of the team because of his substantial salary.
During a talk held on the Last Word on Spurs last Wednesday night, Mokbel shared some insight on the future of Persic.
It was only previously last summer that Persic joined Tottenham, transitioning from Inter Milan with no transfer fee involved.
Persic displayed commendable performance as a left wing-back during the last season, contributing 12 assists in total for Spurs in all forms of competition.
Despite this, his continuity in Tottenham seems uncertain as Calciomercato reports that Persic is eager to exit Tottenham this coming summer.
Nonetheless, Mokbel proposed that Tottenham might encounter difficulties locating a suitable buyer for him.

Selling Perisic Might Be A Challenge for Tottenham
While Mokbel touched upon Tottenham’s intentions to streamline their team this summer, he suggested the task could be quite complex.
“Moving players out of the team is always easier said than done,” stated Mokbel. “Players receive high salaries and even though it’s not a commonly acknowledged fact, Tottenham is known for its competitive remuneration. It’s tough to find clubs willing to take over such high salary commitments.
“I do believe that there are some defenders that Ange Postecoglou would consider letting go. Davinson Sanchez seems to be gearing up for such a possibility, he has previously hinted at his potential exit. So, Sanchez could be a candidate for selling.
“We brought up Ivan Perisic who, while not traditionally a defender, has played the role of wing-back quite often last season. I believe Persic might be another selling candidate.
“However, keep in mind that Persic was signed on with high salary terms, therefore, removing him from the payroll might prove more difficult than expected.”

With a weekly income of nearly £178,000 at Tottenham, secured during his free transfer last summer, there are chances that Perisic may be seeking an exit this summer.
Given the current team dynamics, it seems challenging for the seasoned wing-back to ensure a fit in a Postecoglou system.
While Tottenham has indeed made some great strides in the latest transfer window with newcomers like Maddison and Vicario in tow, there is a pressing need for the team to cut down on its oversized roster ahead of the brand-new soccer season.
In the past, Tottenham has wrestled with player offloads; however, they hope to turn a new leaf this summer.
