Ange Postecoglou Acknowledges Standout Tottenham Player in Training

Ange Postecoglou, the newly appointed manager for Tottenham Hotspur, has expressed his appreciation for Tanguy Ndombele’s effort in training sessions.

Football London reported on Postecoglou’s first press encounter since stepping into the role at Tottenham.

The buzz is mainly around Harry Kane at the moment.

The ongoing conjecture about a possible move for Kane from the club has heightened after a second offer from Bayern Munich.

Despite it being a shocking prospect for the 29-year-old to depart, nothing can be ruled out in the transfer market.

However, rather than focusing on this, Postecoglou took the opportunity to commend Tanguy Ndombele’s progress during training.

Even though Ndombele was put out on loan to Napoli in the previous season and seemed close to leaving the club, he was offered another chance to shine by the Australian manager and is making a notable impression already.

If the French player becomes integral to Postecoglou’s forthcoming season strategy, it’ll indeed be a substantial shift.

Ndombele Garners Postecoglou’s Admiration in Training

When questioned about Ndombele, Postecoglou affirmed: “Tanguy has been doing really well. He’s putting in the grinding in training, just like everyone else because they have no alternative!

“I assess players on what I see firsthand. He was part of the team that clinched Serie A last season, and he’s exhibiting progress.

“With regard of this, I’m happy to have him here and include him in the squad. But the future will decide what this implies. Maybe he will decide he doesn’t want to remain with us.”

Ndombele might find that Postecoglou’s system suits his style better than Antonio Conte’s did.

Throughout Conte’s period at the helm, the gifted midfielder was seldom used, given Conte’s preference for a dual-player midfield setup.

Ndombele’s work ethic has raised eyebrows, but these might be put to rest under Postecoglou’s supervision.

With the shift to a three-player midfield, the 26-year-old can expect reduced pressure on his individual performances.

Chances are, given his positive feedback, Postecoglou will offer Ndombele more opportunities during the upcoming pre-season games.

Ndombele has a great deal of untapped potential that might be accessed by the ex-Celtic manager.
