Chelsea May Sign Speedy Forward, Ignoring Tottenham’s Interest

Chelsea is reportedly negotiating with Juventus for the acquisition of Dusan Vlahovic, despite previous assertions that Tottenham Hotspur was keen on him.

The Evening Standard has reported that Mauricio Pochettino is planning to fortify Chelsea’s offensive line with extra prowess.

Tottenham, on the other hand, has already been making waves in the summer transfer window with the addition of Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison to their roster. There’s also an expectation around the transfer of Manor Solomon to Tottenham from Shakhtar Donetsk, with his medical checkup scheduled at Hotspur Way today.

Yet, Tottenham acknowledges the requirement to replace Harry Kane, whose contract expires in a year. Still, while they are optimistic that Kane will continue his tenure in North London, connections with Dusan Vlahovic have surfaced.

Indeed, Ben Jacobs hinted at the possibility of Vlahovic being a Tottenham target in the event of Kane’s departure just a week ago. Now, they may find themselves competing with former manager, Mauricio Pochettino, for the player.

According to reports from The Evening Standard, Chelsea has expressed interest in Vlahovic among other striker options. For quite a while, the Blues have been intrigued by Vlahovic, and Juventus has signaled their willingness to trade him for a sum of about £68 million in the upcoming summer.

In recent seasons, Vlahovic has made quite a name for himself in Italy, netting 61 goals in his 140 Serie A games for both Juventus and Fiorentina. The 23-year-old is known for his extraordinary speed, aptly described by Micah Richards as “lightning-fast”.

Given their pressing need for a new forward, it’s no surprise that Chelsea has set its sights on Vlahovic. With Juventus seemingly willing to part with him, a deal could be in the works this summer.

In the meantime, Tottenham needs to swiftly decide on Kane’s future so as not to miss out on possible replacements.
