Liverpool might still be planning a move for Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano, despite rumors suggesting the player has agreed to switch to Tottenham Hotspur.
So far, both Jurgen Klopp and Ange Postecoglou have had positive starts to the summer transfer window, with Tottenham securing the services of James Maddison and Guglielmo Vicario.
Liverpool, on the other hand, has strengthened their midfield by signing Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
Both Liverpool and Spurs are set to strengthen their defense in the coming weeks, and Micky van de Ven remains a likely target for both.

Dutch news outlet De Telegraaf reported last week that Van de Ven already had a conversation with Postecoglou about relocating to North London and had agreed to join Tottenham.
However, Romano suggests that Liverpool may still be in the running to sign the 22-year-old player.
Van de Ven Could Still Be Headed to Liverpool
When asked about Liverpool’s reported interest in Van de Ven, Romano stated that the player could still be an option for Klopp if Tottenham chose to pursue Edmond Tapsoba instead.
“Towards the end of May and the beginning of June, Liverpool had some contacts. They were very aware of Micky van de Ven’s situation,” said the reporter.
“However, they then decided to direct their focus towards the midfield and didn’t make a bid to Wolfsburg. Meanwhile, Tottenham entered the race and continue to stay in touch with Wolfsburg.
“But if Tottenham decides to sign Tapsoba instead of Van de Ven, he would again become available, making it a situation worth monitoring.
“The outcome would then rely on Wolfsburg’s asking price. Wolfsburg has set a high price but if that were to change, it might attract interest from numerous sides.”

Van de Ven’s exceptional performance as a defender in his breakthrough season with Wolfsburg has drawn interest from top clubs like Spurs and Liverpool.
Currently, Tottenham seems to have a stronger interest in Van de Ven, however, this could soon change.
The final decision by Spurs between Van de Ven and Tapsoba in the upcoming days might give Liverpool an opportunity to solidify their interest.
