According to Darren Ambrose, Tottenham Hotspur should make a move to acquire Ivan Toney if they decide to transfer Harry Kane during the summer transfer window.
Ambrose conveyed his thoughts on talkSPORT, amidst increasing speculation about Kane’s potential move to Bayern Munich.

Despite Ivan Toney’s suspension from football until the new year, his potential move from Brentford this window seems less likely.
Ambrose Encourages Tottenham to Pursue Toney if Kane Exits this Summer
Tottenham is reportedly considering a move for the English international player regardless of his suspension. Football Transfers suggests that Spurs view Toney as a possible replacement for Kane.

The Daily Mirror reports that Bayern’s efforts to sign the 30-year-old are moving forward, with negotiations expected in the upcoming week.
According to Ambrose, if Kane does not intend to renew his contract, selling him to Thomas Tuchel’s team can be beneficial, especially if the Brentford star could serve as an ideal token despite his current circumstances.
Ambrose stated to talkSPORT, that rather than dealing with Manchester United or certainly not Chelsea, the best option might be to accept the £80 or £100 million for Kane and possibly witness his return in a few years. He suggested that even though Toney is currently benching till January, he is a proven Premier League goalscorer and can be a great addition to the team in the new year – easily contributing over 20 goals.
A Risky Move for Spurs
Signing Toney would indeed be a gamble. It’s undeniable that he’s been phenomenal in the Premier League.
However, after months away from the field, there are no guarantees that he can regain his top form upon return.
Moreover, if Spurs decide to sign Toney this summer, it could potentially exhaust most of their budget for Kane’s replacement.
For the plan to succeed, players such as Son Heung-min, Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski would need to elevate their game during the first half of the season. If not, the club could face significant criticism for replacing Kane with a player who isn’t available to play for months.
Nevertheless, if Kane decides not to renew his contract and Toney manages to return to his ‘impressive’ performance, this could turn out to be a brilliant decision.
